With Deputy Foreign Minister Grushko, State Secretary Božinović talked about multilateral organizations and security mechanisms, with a special emphasis on the future of OSCE and the relations between Russia and NATO.

State Secretary Božinović pointed out Afghanistan as an example of successful cooperation between Russia and NATO. Russia and Croatia are together with other members putting forth great efforts to contribute to the security and stability of Afghanistan and globally.

State Secretary Božinović discussed with Deputy Foreign Minister Titov the two countries’ bilateral relations and exchanged opinions on the situation in South Eastern Europe. Both collocutors confirmed the two countries’ very good relations and considered the possibilities of further intensifying the cooperation in tourism and energy.

State Secretary Božinović mentioned the planned temporary suspension of the visa regime for Russian citizens, which would contribute to a larger number of Russian tourist visits. He said that the pending visit by Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor to Russian Prime Minister Putin would confirm the two countries’ close relations and bring nearer the realization of concrete forms of cooperation. He also remarked that Croatia greatly appreciates the arrival of the Duma’s Deputy Speaker Alexander Mikhailovich Babakov, who will attend the inauguration of the new Croatian president Ivo Josipović.

State Secretary Božinović also outlined Croatia’s view of the situation in the region, pointing out that the European integration process is the best way to achieve stability and prosperity of all the countries in South Eastern Europe.
