Yesterday, 15 July 2004, in Balatonőzsöd, Hungary, the 3rd session of the Mixed Committee for co-operation between the government of the Republic of Croatia and the government of the Republic of Hungary was held
The meeting reviewed the implementation of concrete co-operation projects between the two countries in traffic and infrastructure (namely the building of the European traffic corridors Vb and Vc), projects in the field of energy transfer, co-operation in science, education and environment protection. Croatia’s proposal regarding the possibility of opening special traffic lanes for Croatian citizens at Croatia-Hungary border crossings was also reviewed, and the two sides agreed that the negotiations on this issue should start before the end of 2004.

State secretaries Biščević and Bársony agreed on the joint activities on the Action Plan regarding the transfer of knowledge and experiences on the Hungarian side.
The session was at the same time the preparation for the forthcoming meeting between Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy, due in September 2004.
