State Secretary Biščević in Skopje at regular consultations with Deputy Minister Hasanović
State Secretary for Political Affairs at the MFAEI Hido Biščević met today, 6 May 2005, in Skopje with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Fuad Hasanović, at the regular bilateral consultations
The two reviewed the situation and perspectives in SE Europe and pointed out that maintaining the European perspective, pursuant to the Thessaloniki Declaration, is the only sustainable political option for a permanent stabilisation of that part of Europe. In that sense it was emphasised that the seeking of the solutions for the remaining issues must come from the whole region’s interest for the strengthening of security, stability and democratic standards.
The two also confirmed the exceptionally high level of mutual relations, constant increase in economic and cultural co-operation, as well as the pending visit by Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski to Zagreb, and other high level meetings.
