State Secretary Matković and Ambassador Bradtke reviewed the process of Croatia’s accession to the Euro-Atlantic integration in light of the coming NATO Summit in Bucharest. State Secretary Matković thanked for the support the United States, in the spirit of partnership and friendly relations, are offering Croatia in its efforts to join NATO.

The two sides exchanged opinions about the current state of affairs in the region, with State Secretary Matković pointing out Croatia’s interest for the processes of strengthening the peace and security in this part of Europe to continue. One of the Croatian Government’s permanent priorities is the development of co-operation in South Eastern Europe, where Croatia, as a responsible and trustworthy member of the international community, seeks to play a constructive role in the further stabilization of the region, as well as to provide incentive for other countries in their conducting of reforms, democratization, and Euro-Atlantic integration, said State Secretary Matković.
