State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Bianca Matković received today on farewell visit the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Croatia, Sir John Ramsden

State Secretary Matković and Ambassador Ramsden expressed satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between Croatia and Great Britain, pointing out that they were additionally confirmed during the last month’s meeting between the Croatian and British prime ministers through the adoption of the document on strategic partnership between the two countries. The meeting also discussed the possibilities of further improving the economic co-operation, as well as further co-operation in the public administration reform.

State Secretary Matković informed Ambassador Ramsden about the progress of the reforms Croatia is carrying out as a part of its EU and NATO accession process, emphasizing their completion within the set timeframe. In that regard, she thanked Great Britain for its continual support for Croatia, as well as Ambassador Ramsden for his personal work and co-operation with the Croatian institution during his mandate.

Talking about the state of affairs in the region, State Secretary Matković communicated Croatia’s readiness to use its experience to assist other countries along their way to the Euro-Atlantic integration, while Ambassador Ramsden expressed Great Britain’s support in that area.
