State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gordan Bakota received today, 16 March 2004, on a working visit Hans Mayer, Head of the Group for International Relations at the State Office of the Free State of Bavaria and Secretary of the Bavarian half of the Permanent Croatian-Bavarian Commission
State Secretary Bakota pointed out the importance of the Commission, as one of the most successful regional initiatives, for the Republic of Croatia in view of the necessity of it’s adaptation to the EU standards as soon as possible. In that regard State Secretary Bakota stressed the need for taking advantage of the co-operation within the Commission for acquiring new knowledge in economy, agriculture and state administration, and emphasised the importance of applying the Bavarian experiences in Croatia.
As a part of his working visit to Croatia from 15-16 March 2004, Mr Mayer met with the Croatian Culture Minister Božo Biškupić and talked with his associates about improving the cultural co-operation between Croatia and the Free State of Bavaria. He talked at the Ministry for European Integrations with State Secretary Marija Pejčinović Burić and at the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship with the representatives of the ministry, Croatian Agency for Small Economy and Agency for the Promotion of Export and Investment, that also take part in the activities of the Permanent-Croatian Bavarian Commission.
