State Secretary Bakota on working visit to Slovenian MFA

State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Bakota paid today, 16 March 2005, a working visit to Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he talked with Director General of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrej Šter

State Secretary Bakota and Director General Šter discussed the overall co-operation between the two ministries, especially in the process of Croatia’s negotiations with and acceding to the EU.

The two agreed on holding regular consultations between the two ministries and on the possibility of offering consular assistance to Croatian and Slovenian citizens. Bakota and Šter also talked about the forthcoming meeting on the succession of the former state regarding the Annex B of the Succession Agreement, which deals with the division of diplomatic and consular property.

It was reiterated that Slovenia supports Croatia’s entering the negotiations with the EU, and opinions were exchanged on the organisation and functioning of the diplomatic service.
