State Secretary and SEECP Coordinator Hido Biščević presided over Special Meeting of the Committee of Political Directors of SEECP

State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Coordinator of SEECP Hido Biščević presided over the Special Meeting of the Committee of Political Directors of SEECP in Zagreb on 24 and 25 April 2007

State Secretary Biščević presented the results of recent activities that the Republic of Croatia organized as part of its SEECP Chairmanship – Regional Ministerial Conference on Energy, Meeting of the SEECP Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs and the Conference of Parliament Presidents.

Political directors gave special attention to specific forms of future strengthening of regional ownership of cooperation in Southeast Europe during which they considered candidates for the position of Secretary General of the Council for Cooperation and the headquarters of the Council Secretariat. The Secretary General and the headquarters will be chosen by the SEECP Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 10 May 2007 and their choice will be confirmed by SEECP State and Government Presidents on 11 May 2007 at the Zagreb Summit.

The Republic of Croatia will end its SEECP Chairmanship on 11 May 2007 when the Chairmanship will be taken over by Bulgaria.
