State Secretary and Chairperson of Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission Marija Pejčinović Burić participates in 29th meeting of Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission

State Secretary for European Integration and Chairperson of the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission Marija Pejčinović Burić is participating in the 29th meeting of the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission, which is being held in Zagreb on 28 and 29 June 2007

On this occasion State Secretary and Croatian Chairperson of the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission Pejčinović Burić met with the State Minister for Federal and European Affairs of the free state of Bavaria and Bavarian Chairperson of the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission Emilia Müller. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić informed on the status of the EU accession negotiations of the Republic of Croatia and expressed satisfaction with the Croatian achievements during the German Presidency of the EU. State Minister Müller confirmed continued support of the Federal Republic of Germany in terms of Croatia's accession to full membership in the European Union and stressed very good cooperation of the two sides, particularly within the framework of content cooperation within the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission.

In the welcoming speech of the 29th meeting of the Permanent Bavarian-Croatian Commission State Secretary Pejčinović Burić emphasised the significance of the Commission in promoting successful partner cooperation that has, for a number of years, confirmed very good and solid relations between Croatia and Bavaria. Permanent Croatian-Bavarian Commission has an exceptional significance in the bilateral cooperation between Croatia and Bavaria in all fields of social, political and economic life, since numerous projects in the fields of economy, tourism, transport, space management, environment protection, water management, agriculture and forestry, in the fields of social care, health care, education, culture, science, civil service, local self-government, public safety, judiciary and European integration are implemented through the Commission.

It is expected that the participants will sign the Protocol from the 29th meeting of the Permanent Croatian-Bavarian Commission during the Meeting, on Friday 29 June 2007.
