State secretaries Pejčinović Burić and Kuprešak received separately to inaugural visit Chinese Ambassador Wu Lianqi

State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić and State Secretary for Organisation, Development and Management Željko Kuprešak received separately on 12 and 23 November 2007 to inaugural visit the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, Wu Lianqi

During the meeting between State Secretary Pejčinović Burić and Ambassador Wu Lianqi, both sides pointed out the well-developed bilateral relations between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the importance of the Joint Statement by the two prime ministers on the setting up of partnership in general co-operation between Croatia and Chine, which both sides describe as a good basis for the further development of bilateral relations. Ambassador Lianqi expressed a wish for the intensification of consultations between the two countries on all levels. Both sides agreed on the need for the enhancement of economic co-operation.

On 12 November 2007, Ambassador Wu Lianqi was received by State Secretary Kuprešak. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of relations between the two countries, stressing the numerous possibilities for their deepening on the political, economic and cultural level. State Secretary Kuprešak and Ambassador Lianqi also affirmed the two countries’ excellent co-operation within international organisations and announced the holding of economic, political and consular consultations, as well as those regarding the state administration reform.

Ambassador Lianqi pointed out that Croatia’s election to non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council proves that the international community has recognised Croatia as a constructive partner on both global and regional level.
