According to information the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs received through the American Embassy in Croatia, special notices have been sent to maritime and airline companies operating in the Middle East.

This information includes the radio channels that can be used to communicate with the coalition forces. All maritime vessels and aircrafts approaching the Coalition forces are advised to keep radio contact at channel 16, international SOS frequency (121,5 MHz VHF) or military SOS frequency (243,0 MHz UHF). Further information available the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Traffic, and Communications.

Iraqi territorial airspace is closed, until further notice, to all coalition aircrafts, except medical, firefighting, rescue and humanitarian flights permitted by the Central Command. All aircrafts approaching the coalition forces should keep contact at the said frequency. Timely and accurate identification of civil aircrafts is crucial for avoiding the unnecessary use of force.

Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received information that nearly all airline companies that have been forbidden entry into the Iraqi airspace and threatened with “taking down everything that flies over Iraq,” have cancelled their flights and redirected them north and south of Cyprus, Syria and Iraq.
