Two-day conference called “The Riga Initiative” is being held in Warsaw from 19-20 March. The Initiative was started by Polish President Kwasniewski for the purposes of establishing a forum for co-operation between Middle, Eastern and Southern European countries, “from the Baltic to the Black Sea”.
The objective of the initiative is to avoid new divisions in Europe following the decisions to extend NATO and the European Union.
The Conference involves delegations from 17 countries. The Croatian delegation is led by Mario Nobilo, Assistant Foreign Minister.
