Today, at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, a Cooperation Agreement was signed for the publication of the Collection of Diplomatic Documents from MVEP, the Croatian Institute of History, and the Croatian State Archives. The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, Director of the Croatian Institute of History Miroslav Akmadža, and Director of the Croatian State Archives Dinko Čutura. This Agreement establishes a legal framework for collaboration on the project titled “Documents on the Foreign Policy of the Republic of Croatia,” which encompasses the publication of a chronological or thematic series of documents on the foreign policy of the Republic of Croatia from the establishment of independent diplomatic activities to the Peaceful Reintegration and complete establishment of the territorial integrity in 1998.

This includes all non-classified documents on Croatia’s foreign policy that have a valid legal basis for publication in accordance with the provisions of the law regulating data secrecy.

The publication of state documents on foreign policy is a common historiographical and archival practice worldwide. It contributes to achieving democratic transparency in state policy and enhancing the international reputation of Croatia. The primary objective is to meet the needs of the scientific community and the general public for the study of international relations and diplomatic history. Secondary objectives are achieved by considering the publication of documents in thematic areas, allowing for the exploration of further research interests.
