Regarding the article published in Slobodna Dalmacija 15 June 2008, entitled “Jandroković leaves Jadran to Podgorica”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration resolutely rejects all insinuations that it refuses to take the necessary steps to return the school ship Jadran, located in Montenegro, to Croatia.

On the contrary; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Minister Jandroković personally are doing everything within their power to solve that issue to the best interest of Croatia. The same has been said in the reply to the Slobodna Dalmacija journalist, stating that the Ministry has for the past few months, through various-level contacts with the Montenegrin officials, asked that the ship be returned. Said issue, as well as some other outstanding issues, have been the topic of the recent visit by Minister Jandroković to Montenegro.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will continue to insist on the return of Jadran, as well as on solving all of the outstanding issues with Montenegro, always taking into account the protection of Croatia’s interests.
