Pusić received inaugural visit by Iranian Ambassador, H. E. Mohsen Sharif Khodaei

The Iranian ambassador said that this year we marked the 20th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations, pointing out the necessity of advancing the economic relations as Iran is a big market and adding that the Mixed Economic Committee should be reactivated. He reported that the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Teheran had been a success, with two more countries joining the movement (Azerbaijan and Fiji).

Pusić said that until July the following year, when it will become a full-fledged member, Croatia would be focused on relations with the EU member countries in order to fulfil the obligations the best. “Of course,” Pusić said, “Croatia is not neglecting its immediate neighbourhood of Southeast Europe, nor the wider one – countries of the Southern Mediterranean, as Croatia is adhering the EU standards and is interested in stabilizing the situation.”

The two officials also discussed the recent session of the UN General Assembly in New York, as well as the topics that had marked it.

Khodaei expressed his condolences over the death of Croatian parliament speaker Boris Šprem.
