The minister held talks with her host, French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe, European Affairs Minister Jean Leonetti, the chairman of the Senate's European Affairs Commission, Simon Sutour, and the president of the France-Croatia friendship group, Michele Andre.

Pusić and the French officials confirmed the partner relations between Croatia and France. The two countries' officials expressed satisfaction with clear prospects of further strengthening of bilateral relations. Croatia expressed gratitude to France for supporting its EU entry talks. Both countries said they wanted to actively support the European path of other Southeast European countries.

Given the coming elections in France, the French officials said that the process of ratifying Croatia's EU Accession Treaty would be launched this autumn, which was confirmed by both houses of the French parliament by adopting the European declaration in Croatia late last year.

Pusić and the French officials also talked about strengthening the economic and decentralised cooperation and the Croatian festival in France, to be held this fall and feature a number of cultural events aimed at familiarizing the French public with Croatia’s cultural and historical heritage. The festival will also be an opportunity to strengthen the overall relations between the two countries.

The Croatian foreign minister briefed the French officials about the projects of Croatia's foreign policy for Southeast Europe and the Mediterranean. She underlined the importance of this year's Croatia Summit which, among other things, is expected to focus on Croatia's experience in post-conflict period, namely in building a modern state and institutions.

As part of her stay in Paris, Pusić also met with the Secretary-General of La Francophonie, Abdou Diouf.
