Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration of Palestine Varsen Aghabekian at the seat of the Croatian Government.
The talks focused on the current humanitarian situation in Gaza and on Croatian and international efforts to find a sustainable political solution.

The Prime Minister expressed concern about the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza and strongly advocated for an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, the protection of civilians and the unhindered delivery of aid to the endangered population, especially children.

"The Croatian Government remains consistent in its commitment to lasting peace and security, which can only be achieved through a two-state solution, in which Israel and Palestine would live side by side, in peace, security and dignity, within mutually and internationally recognized borders. That is why we support the political process leading to this goal, within the framework of the European Union and the wider international community," said Plenković.

To date, Croatia has provided almost 3 million euros in humanitarian aid, including one million euros for the children of Gaza through UNICEF.

A new decision to allocate an additional one million euros in humanitarian aid was also announced at the meeting, which the Government will adopt at tomorrow's session.

At the invitation of Minister Grlić-Radman, the Palestinian Minister visited Zagreb as part of the Conference of Ambassadors, Consuls General, Consuls and Military Attachés of the Republic of Croatia, where she also gave a lecture on the situation in Gaza.
