Prestigious Finnish university Alvar Aalto in Helsinki set up exhibition “Nikola Tesla – the Man Who Lit Up the World”

At the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Finland, and organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Technical Museum and the History Museum, the prestigious Finnish university Alvar Aalto in Helsinki set up March 25th 2010 the exhibition titled “Nikola Tesla – the Man Who Lit Up the World”

The exhibition was opened by Dean of the Alvar Aalto Science and Technology University Matti Pursula, who thanked for the organization of the exhibition about Tesla and his contributions to the world science, saying it would contribute to the further strengthening of the already solid partnership between Finland and Croatia in the fields of education, science and research. The exhibition’s author Mario Filipin outlined in detail the life and works of Nikola Tesla.

Croatian Ambassador to Finland Damir Kušen thanked the Alvar Aalto University and all of the institutions that had contributed to the setting up of the exhibition, pointing out that Finland, as a country at the forefront of global high technology and innovation, is an excellent venue for the presentation of Tesla’s inventions and achievements.

The opening of the exhibition, apart from the Alvar Aalto University Vice-Dean Jorma Kyyrä, Undersecretary of State at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pekka Huhtaniemi and Technical Museum Director Davor Fulanović, also saw the presence of numerous professors and students from Finnish universities, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Croatian community in Finland.
