At the end of January this year, a decision was adopted to include in Croatia’s vaccination plan staff at diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited to Croatia and located in Zagreb, as well as foreign residents living in Croatia.
The decision was adopted so that the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs could achieve reciprocity and enable the Croatian staff at diplomatic missions and residents abroad to be vaccinated.
Vaccination of foreign residents was organised under the same conditions and priorities as for Croatian citizens, when the third round of inoculation started, and it is expected that Croatian residents abroad will have the same treatment.
On 9 May, about 470 staff members of diplomatic missions and international organisations and their families received the first dose of a vaccine.
Due to a number of diplomats and their family members not being able to receive the vaccine (Ramadan month, travel or other justified reasons), another round of vaccination for about 100 people will be organised next week.
The vaccination as well as communication with foreign embassies was made possible through cooperation between the Croatian Institute of Public Health and the Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
