On 19 August 2003, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, a note was presented to the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Zagreb, as a reply to the Note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia No. ZMP-1/2003 of 11 August 2003 in which views were expressed on the possible proclamation of the exclusive economic zone at the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea.
It is reminded in the note that talks on this topic were held on 13 May 2003 in Ljubljana, and the reply of the Slovenian side to the Croatian proposal for a meeting to be held between representatives of the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia on 15-19 September 2003 is still awaited.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia expressed once again its wish that the disputable issues be resolved between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia through mutual dialogue and in the spirit of good neighbourly relations.
On the occasion of the presentation of the note to the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Zagreb, the reply of the representatives of the Slovenian authorities concerning the latest statements given by Mr. Zmag Jelinčić regarding the economic zone was requested.
