On 27 November 2006, as a part of Croatia’s development assistance policy, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration begun with the education of one Afghan and two Iraqi diplomats. Assistance in educating diplomats is one of the ways in which the Croatian Government wishes to contribute to the recovery and development of Afghanistan and Iraq, struck hard by the consequences of conflict and lack of stability.

The Afghan and Iraqi diplomats are attending the one-year course in Economic Diplomacy, together with 20 odd Croatian and foreign attendees. All of the lectures are being held in English by renowned lectures from the country and abroad.
