On 10 July 2003, prizes were handed at the Council of Europe to the pupils who participated in the contest "Europe at School", with their projects on "Europe in the world: interdependence and solidarity, understanding and tolerance, challenges for the future".

Among the 28 winners from 14 European countries, prizes for the musical projects were also won by two pupils from Croatia, Ivan Pešut from Rijeka and Edward Titli? from Šmrike, who are staying in Strasbourg within the programme of meeting of all winners.

"Europe at school" is an intercultural transnational initiative which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, and functions under the auspices of the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, and the European Cultural Foundation. The importance of this project is that every year a contest is organised in which elementary and secondary schools from 34 European countries participate with their literary, art and musical projects on a given subject promoting the European dimension of education.
