Mr. Stjepan Mesić, the Croatian President, inaugurated the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Tripoli

On Wednesday, 14 August 2003, Mr. Stjepan Mesić, the Croatian President, inaugurated the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Tripoli during his several day visit to the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

The inauguration of the Embassy, located in the business building in the centre of Tripoli, was attended by Mr. Shukri Mohammed Ghanem, Libyan Prime Minister, Mr. Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalghem, Libyan Foreign Minister and other high officials of Jamahiriya, as well members of the Croatian delegation accompanying President Mesić, including Mr. Ivan Šimonović, the Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister.

On the occasion of the inauguration, mutual wish was expressed for strengthening bilateral cooperation, notably the necessity to increase economic cooperation discussed during the President Mesić’s visit.
