Minister Žužul took part in Brussels at the meeting between the foreign ministers of the EU members and the candidate countries

Foreign Minister Miomir Žužul, on an invitation by the EU President, Dutch Foreign Minister Bernard Bot, took part in Brussels at the meeting between the foreign ministers of the EU members, the candidate countries Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey, and the European NATO members which are not members of the EU, Island and Norway, about the possibilities of taking part in the civil components of the European Security and Defence Policy operations

This is the first time Croatia is taking part at such a meeting as an EU candidate country. Minister Žužul pointed out that Croatia supports the strengthening and development of this process within the European Security and Defence Policy and announced Croatia’s active participation. Minister Žužul pointed out in particular Croatia’s experience and expertise gathered in similar missions within the UN and OSCE, and announced agreements for the purpose of realising the possibility of Croatia’s participation in this important process.

Minister Žužul signed today in Brussels the Framework Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and the European Community on the general principles of participation in Community’s programs.
