On 3 January 2003 in the afternoon, Mr. Miomir Žužul, the Croatian Foreign Minister, conveyed deep sympathy to H.E. Dominique Galouzeau de Villepin, French Foreign Minister, and H.E. Ahmed Maher El Sayed, Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of the heavy air crash of the Egyptian aeroplane with French passengers in which 135 people and 13 crew members lost their lives when the plain crashed into the Red sea, after taking off from Sharm El Sheikh.

“I was deeply grieved to learn the news on the loss of lives of French citizens and members of the Egyptian crew in the air crash this morning in Egypt. Please accept, Mr. Minister, my deepest sympathy and convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved families”, Minister Žužul wrote in his messages to the French and Egyptian Foreign Ministers.
