Pusić voiced satisfaction with the opening of the Azerbaijan embassy in Croatia last year, agreeing that it was useful for the strengthening of bilateral co-operation. Khasiyev said Azerbaijan paid special attention precisely to cooperation with the countries of Southeast Europe, and saw Croatia as an important partner.

Talking about economic cooperation, the two officials discussed reciprocal investment in their respective countries, pointing out the potential for advancing the cooperation in energy, oil industry, agriculture, and shipbuilding. In regard to tourism, they agreed that both sides should consider liberalizing the visa regime during the following tourist season.

Ambassador Khasiyev thanked Croatia for its continued support as a NATO member to Azerbaijan and its territorial integrity.

Minister Pusić stressed Croatia’s commitment to peaceful solutions and political stability as a precondition for long-term prosperity.
