Minister Pusić discusses conclusions of extraordinary FAC on Ukraine

After the extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić underlined its most important conclusions

After the extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić underlined its most important conclusions and announced a European Council on Ukraine for 6 March. “The conclusions condemned the clear violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity by acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces as well as the authorisation given by the Federation Council of Russia for the use of the armed forces on the territory of Ukraine. The ministers also considered further sanctions if the situation does not de-escalate, to be discussed on Thursday: suspending bilateral talks with Russia on visa matters as well as on the New Agreement and targeted measures that could undercut Russia’s economic activities.”

“We will see how the situation is going to develop by Thursday. The EU also decided to suspend preparations for a G8 meeting scheduled for June in Sochi,” Pusić said.
