First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić congratulated John Kerry on his appointment as the new U.S. secretary of state, expressing hope that they would meet soon.

 

“Croatia will remain committed to our joint projects on maintaining stability and security in the world, notably Southeast Europe, where we will continue to support further NATO enlargement. Also, I am hopeful that we will continue working on the bilateral projects launched during the time of secretary of state Clinton, namely helping women and girls in Afghanistan, supporting the Euro-Atlantic reforms in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as possible cooperation in the development of Croatia’s energy sector,” reads the congratulations letter.
