Minister Picula received Mr. Digvijaya Singh, the MFA of the Republic of India...

On 15 September 2003, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Tonino Picula, received the MFA of the Republic of India, Digvijaya Singh, who is officially visiting Croatia from 14 to 16 September of the current year.

The Ministers discussed bilateral issues like official visits, agreements, the economy, and political consultations between the two Ministries. They considered the situation in their respective regions, the question of global security and terrorism, as well as issues related to the UN. Minister Picula informed his Indian counterpart about the process of Croatia's approaching the European Union and NATO.

The two MFAs stressed that both countries will make additional effort to improve bilateral cooperation in the economy and in other areas.

Minister Singh will also meet Croatian president Stjepan Mesić, Prime Minister Račan, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Zdravko Tomac, and the Minister of Tourism Pave Župan Rusković.
