Mr. Tonino Picula, the Croatian Foreign Minister, has met today with Mr. Ahmad Khorram, Minister of Road and Transportation of the Islamic Republic of Iran who is also the Chairman of the Iranian part of the Joint Croatian-Iranian Commission for Economic Cooperation.

Minister Picula emphasised that the Republic of Croatia and the Islamic Republic of Iran have numerous possibilities to develop bilateral cooperation, notably in the field of economy. He further stressed the importance of signing the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation because of the increase in commodity exchange, as well as the need for increasing economic cooperation at large.

Minister Khorram pointed out the importance of the existing bilateral acts on cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Iran. During the visit of Minister Picula to Teheran in May this year, serious wish was expressed for further development of the overall political and economic cooperation, which is continuing in Zagreb today, Minister Khorran said.
