Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić 25 July 2012 held talks with the newly-appointed German Ambassador to Croatia, Hans-Peter Annen

Talking about Croatia’s upcoming EU membership, Annen said he foresaw no obstacles to the ratification of Croatia’s Accession Treaty in Germany and was hopeful it would be ratified in a timely fashion.

The two officials also commented on the situation in the region, which Annen is well familiar with as he previously was the German ambassador to Albania. Pusić stated that a stable region was one of Croatia’s most important foreign-policy goals.

Pusić and Annen agreed that Croatia and Germany had traditionally good bilateral relations, in no small part due to a large number of Croats living in Germany, whose integration into the German society contributed to the positive image of Croatia in Germany.
