Minister Jandroković met on margins of UN General Assembly session with Egyptian FM Gheit, attended CoE meeting and working lunch hosted by US Secretary of State Rice

Accompanied by Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković is on a visit to New York for the 63rd session of the United Nation’s General Assembly

Minister Jandroković met on the margins of the UN General Assembly’s session with the Foreign Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ahmed Ali Aboul Gheit. The two ministers agreed that the very good bilateral co-operation should be accompanied by a better trade between their countries. In that regard, they expressed full support for another meeting between the representatives of the Mixed Croatian-Egyptian Economic Co-operation Commission.

The meeting between the two ministers also saw the exchange of position and the Union for the Mediterranean, situation in the Near East, and the current events on the international political scene. Minister Jandroković was informed about that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak plans to visit the Republic of Croatia next year, and was extended an invitation to officially visit Cairo.

Minister Jandroković attended the Council of Europe’s meeting on the current situation in Georgia. He also attended a working lunch hosted by the US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, which discussed the actualities of transatlantic co-operation, as well as about the relations and co-operation between the EU and US.
