Minister Grlić Radman meets with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres

Russia should withdraw from the occupied Ukrainian territory, Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman said in New York on Friday, ahead of his address to the UN General Assembly.
 
We call on Russia, which has carried out an unprovoked act of aggression against a sovereign, independent country, a member of the United Nations, to withdraw from the occupied territory. We have condemned all crimes committed by Russia, especially against innocent civilian victims and the most vulnerable groups, children and women. We have condemned the illegal deportation of children and all torture and sexual abuse, the Croatian foreign minister told the press on Friday.
 
Grlić Radman arrived in New York for a two-day visit to attend a series of events and discussions on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
 
Later on Friday, the minister will address the UN General Assembly within the thematic unit "The Situation in the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine", and on the sidelines of the session he met, among others, with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
 
Grlić Radman said that he conveyed to Guterres concerns about the instability in the Western Balkans and that he spoke to him about the need to change the electoral law in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the efforts that Croatia was making so that the European Union would open accession negotiations with BiH as soon as possible.
 
Guterres appreciates the efforts in this regard, and as a man who was in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, he knows it very well, Grlić Radman said
 
The Croatian minister underscored that only equality and political participation of all constituent peoples in the executive and representative bodies could ensure the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
