Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Wednesday in Sarajevo met with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turković.

Grlić Radman said his visit to BiH was a follow-up to the recent visit by Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and that the goal was to discuss holding a joint session of the two governments in the first half of this year.

“Croatia and BiH have excellent trade relations and are implementing a number of infrastructure projects, including new bridges on the River Sava and connecting their gas supply networks,” he said.

The minister added that Croatia and BiH also shared interests in road construction, hydroelectric energy, environmental protection and European cross-border cooperation projects. “In that context, there is room for additional advancement of our relations, which said session will surely contribute to,” he said.

Grlić Radman also reflected on the political situation in BiH, underscoring hope that it would change soon and that conditions would be right for holding the session. “I sincerely hope that political circumstances in BiH change. Of course, reaching a consensus on the election law would certainly contribute to that, as will the upcoming visits by international officials. I urge all the political actors in BiH to show courage and determination and support the process that will regain the citizens’ trust and lead to fair elections and, ultimately, to well-being for your country,” he underlined.

The minister wrapped up his visit to Sarajevo with talks with the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, on the issues BiH Croats face and the importance of a constructive dialogue among the constituent peoples to uphold peace and stability.
