Minister Grlić Radman meets with Banja Luka Bishop Komarica

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Thursday met with the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Thursday met with the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica. The meeting was a thematic follow-up to the talks between Bishop Komarica and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković held on 22 February.

The meeting focused on Croatia’s further support for Bishop Komarica’s efforts to make it possible for Croats and the Catholic faithful to remain in and return to the Banja Luka diocese and to inhale new life in a diocese that has certainly suffered the most of all Catholic dioceses in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The bishop informed the minister about plans to revitalize one of the most important religious and cultural buildings in his diocese - the Marija Zvijezda Trappist monastery, and about the activities of the founding committee of the Marija Zvijezda European Centre for Peace, Interreligious and International Cooperation in Banja Luka.

Bishop Komarica thanked Grlić Radman for his commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Croats, agreeing that their status is also an investment in the stability and security of Croatia itself.
