Minister Grlić Radman meets with Andorran counterpart Ubach
This was the first meeting of Croatian and Andorran foreign ministers since 2010, which Grlić Radman described as an opportunity to intensify political dialogue between the two friendly countries.
Grlić Radman and Ubach signed a memorandum of agreement on friendship and general cooperation between the Government of Croatia and the Government of Andorra, which establishes a framework for the promotion of cooperation in a number of areas – culture, science, education, sports, foreign affairs, tourism, research and development, and economic diversification.
“Croatia wants to expand cooperation in the areas outlined in the memorandum and expects additional consultations on the various aspects of our bilateral relations. In order to advance economic relations, Croatia and Andorra will stimulate contacts between institutions, with IT and health tourism holding the greatest potential for the exchange of experiences. Our countries have also started the process of signing a double taxation avoidance agreement,” Grlić Radman said. He added that Croatia and Andorra would continue to cooperate internationally as well, notably within UNESCO.
The minister underscored that Croatia was willing to share its experiences regarding the Stabilization and Association Agreement, given that Andorra is currently in talks with the EU about it.
Grlić Radman and Ubach also discussed the situation in Southeast Europe and EU enlargement, and stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine, which includes additional sanctions in coordination with European and international partners.
