Minister Grlić Radman attends second meeting of Croatian national minority, Croats abroad

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman participated in the second meeting of the Croatian national minority and Croats abroad, held in Novalja. At the event, Croatia was introduced to the Croatian minority from Montenegro through a scientific and cultural program. The event included the presentation of the anthology "The Identity of Croats in the Bay of Kotor", a pre-premiere screening of a documentary on the sacred heritage of the Bay of Kotor, a roundtable discussion titled "The Croatian Minority in Montenegro—Current Situation, Challenges, and Perspectives", and a cultural and artistic program.
 
As the representative of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Grlić Radman emphasized that Croatia will continue to support the Croatian community in Montenegro. Participants from Montenegro stressed the importance of preserving the Croatian language and cultural heritage in Montenegro. The exchange of experiences between Croatian communities from different regions was a key point of the meeting, with a focus on the challenges of preserving identity in minority communities.
 
The event was organized with the aim of strengthening cultural and social ties between Croatia and Croats living outside their homeland, and encouraging cooperation in preserving national identity, language, and traditions. The meeting was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Institute for Migration Research, the City of Novalja, and the Croatian National Council of Montenegro.
