Minister Grlić Radman attends 150th anniversary of St. Tryphon celebration
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman attended on Saturday as the prime minister’s envoy the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of St. Tryphon celebration at the Croatian Maritime Museum in Split.
Grlić Radman congratulated the Croats of Boka Kotorska on this important anniversary, underlining that Croatia was proud of the rich cultural heritage of the Boka Kotorska Croats and stressing their long-standing presence in Split. “For a century and a half, Split has been organizing the celebration of St. Tryphon. The Croats of Boka Kotorska have brought along their tradition, uniforms and name, which we cherish and are proud of, and which is also the intangible cultural heritage of Croatia,” he said.
The minister took the opportunity to stress that the culture of the Croat minority in Montenegro was an inalienable part of the identity and culture of the Croatian people as a whole, and that it was important to cherish it. “In order to succeed, all we need is your unity, your connectedness with Boka Kotorska and its bishopric, the source that gives us strength and keeps us awake,” Grlić Radman said, adding that the Croatian Government was doing its utmost to strengthen its people, especially in Boka Kotorska, and this ceremonial academy was a proof of that.
