Minister Grlić Radman attends 12th EUSDR Annual Forum

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman on Tuesday attended the 12th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), held in Brdo pri Kranju under Slovenia’s chairmanship.
 
The Forum saw Austria assume EUSDR presidency, with ministers discussing the current status and challenges of EUSDR, geopolitical changes in the region, new impetus to the enlargement, and raising awareness about the political ownership of EUSDR.
 
Grlić Radman underscored the importance of EUSDR and supporting EU enlargement process in the region. By participating in the Forum, Croatia confirmed its commitment to the strengthening of regional cooperation and the promotion of stability and prosperity in the Danube Region.
 
The Joint Declaration adopted at the Forum underlined the following: continued support for Ukraine; satisfaction with Ukraine, Moldova, and Bosnia and Herzegovina being granted EU membership candidate status; the need to strengthen political ownership of EUSDR, engage all stakeholders, and increase the European Commission’s involvement; the importance of the Green Deal, the speeding up of energy transition, as well as energy diversification.
 
State Secretary Zdenko Lucić participated in a panel on the EU enlargement prospects and the need to integrate the Danube countries into European structures.
