Minister Grlić Radman at Scientific Symposium “Vukovar War Hospital 1991 – Dr. Juraj Njavro”

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman, representing Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, attended the official opening of the 20th scientific symposium “Vukovar War Hospital 1991 - Dr. Juraj Njavro” in Vukovar. The symposium was organized by the Vukovar National Memorial Hospital “Dr. Juraj Njavro” to preserve the memory and highlight the crucial role played by the Vukovar Hospital and its staff during the Croatian War of Independence.
 
As part of the symposium, honorary certificates were presented to the Vukovar Hospital in recognition of the inclusion of Dr. Vesna Bosanac, director of the wartime Vukovar Hospital, in the Milan Garden of the Righteous. This posthumous honour celebrates her extraordinary courage and dedication. On this occasion, Grlić Radman remarked that during the siege of Vukovar, Dr. Bosanac demonstrated selfless humanity and resilience, providing care and hope to the wounded in the most challenging circumstances. He added that her name would be forever etched in history as a symbol of humanity and indomitable spirit.
