Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on 11 January 2007 to inaugural visit the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to the Republic of Croatia, Harold Teixeira Valladao Filha
Ambassador Teixeira thanked for the warm welcome, expressing satisfaction with his assuming the duty of the first residential Brazilian ambassador to Croatia seated in Zagreb.
Both sides confirmed that there are no open issues between the two countries and expressed conviction that the opening of the Brazilian Embassy to Croatia will contribute to the strengthening of the friendly relations and intensification of co-operation in all areas. The 10,000 or so Croats living in Brazil represent a strong link between the two countries, while Croatia recognises Brazil’s prominent role, both in the region and on the international level.
