Minister Grabar-Kitarović received Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonijo Milošoski
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on Monday, 18 June 2007, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Antonijo Milošoski, who was in an official visit to the Republic of Croatia
Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed the high level of international cooperation and support in the process of EU and NATO rapprochement, indicating dynamic cooperation within the US-Adriatic Charter and constant exchange of experience within various regional and sub regional initiatives and forums. The ministers also mentioned readiness for strengthening the cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Macedonia through specific and direct cooperation of relevant government departments.
Both ministers expressed belief in intensifying economic cooperation and Minister Grabar-Kitarović welcomed reforms and measures that the Macedonian government is undertaking in order to attract foreign investors, emphasising the interests of Croatian companies in a stronger presence and investments in the Macedonian market. In order to expand bilateral economic cooperation, it is necessary to intensify the activities in the cooperation of government agencies for promoting trade and investment and to support the activities of the Croatian-Macedonian business club, said the Croatian minister.
Both sides pointed out the importance of continuing the activities of Parliamentary groups for cooperation with the Croatian Parliament in Macedonia's Sobranje and they welcomed the successful completion of the work of the expert group and the text of the Agreement on the protection of the rights of the Croatian minority in Macedonia and the Macedonian minority in Croatia.
The Macedonian side pointed out very good cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Macedonia in the context of EU rapprochement of the two countries as well as cooperation within the US-Adriatic Charter through stronger joint efforts to receive the invitation for NATO membership. The ministers exchanged viewpoints on cooperation with multilateral organisations, particularly within the UN, as well as on the status of the Southeast Europe. Both sides also brought their attention to the development of the SEECP process.
