Minister Grabar-Kitarović received Czech Foreign Minister Schwarzenberg

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia Ms. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on Wednesday, 13 June 2007, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg staying in a formal visit to the Republic of Croatia

Ministers Grabar-Kitarović and Schwarzenberg expressed their pleasure with very good relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Czech Republic, with no open issues.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed Minister Schwarzenberg about Croatia's achievements in the process of accession negotiations with the EU and NATO. Minister Schwarzenberg emphasised full support to Croatia's aspirations to join Euroatlantic associations, and said the Czech Republic was ready to continue sharing its experiences in accession to the mentioned associations. He expressed his wish for Croatia to become full EU member during Czech EU presidency in 2009. Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed gratitude to the Czech side for continuous support in Croatia's EU accession, and for sharing Czech experiences from negotiation process.

Ministers also talked about the role of economy and investments in bilateral relations, and pointed to good growing co-operation in the area of tourism, energy and car industry. It is emphasised that trade co-operation between the two countries is also growing although there is still space for further improvement.
