Minister Grabar-Kitarović participated in Sarajevo in ceremony on occasion of agreement on RCC Secretariat’s arrangements

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović participated on 10 October 2007 in Sarajevo in the ceremony on the occasion of the agreement on the arrangements of the Regional Co-operation Council’s (RCC) Secretariat, signed in Plovdiv on 14 September this year

The host of the ceremony, Chairman of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Council of Ministers Nikola Špirić, received the foreign ministers of SEECP members, representatives of the European Commission, MFAEI State Secretary for Political Affairs Hido Biščević in the capacity of the appointed RCC Secretary General, and Stability Pact’s Special Co-ordinator Erhard Busek.

The participants pointed out the importance of signing said agreement as a legal basis for its functioning. They also stressed the importance of regional co-operation and the setting up of the RCC, which contributes to a lasting stabilisation of South Eastern Europe and the process of integrating the region’s countries into the EU and NATO.

The ceremony was preceded by the first meeting of the RCC Committee, held on Tuesday in Sarajevo, which saw the participation of the representatives of South Eastern European countries, the European Commission, and the donators. The meeting expressed satisfaction with the results in establishing the RCC and stated support for further steps in co-ordinating the appointed RCC Secretary General and the Stability Pact’s Special Co-ordinator.
