Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with Minister for European Affairs at the French MFA, Catherine Colonna

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović met 22 September 2005, at the margins of the 60th session of the UN General Assembly, with the Minister for European Affairs at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna

Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed her French counterpart about Croatia’s efforts in implementing the Action Plan so that the EU members could reach a consensus on the start of the negotiations between the EU and Croatia.

Minister Colonna said that the two countries share the same interests and expressed her hope that the EU, having recognised the efforts Croatia is putting forth, will reach the decision on the start of the negotiations. That would, she said, send a positive signal to other countries in the region, whose achievements in the process of approaching the EU have to be evaluated individually.

At the end of the meeting, the two ministers confirmed the good bilateral relations between the two countries, pointing out that there are no open issues between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of France.
