Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with Bulgarian Parliament’s Chairman Georgi Pirinski
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović met today, 15 December 2005, during the second day of her official visit to Bulgaria, with Bulgarian Parliament’s Chairman Georgi Pirinski
Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed Chairman Pirinski about the progress of the accession negotiations with the EU, pointing out the Croatian Parliament’s active role of in the Euro-integration process through the harmonisation of the Croatian legislature with the acquis communitaire. Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed the fact that all Croatian parliamentary parties reached a consensus on Croatia’s acceding to the EU.
Reviewing the co-operation between the SEE countries, Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Chairman Pirinski agreed that it is necessary to go on with the existing forms of co-operation, but establish new ones as well, so as to strengthen the regional security and achieve economic prosperity.
Minister Grabar-Kitarović held a lecture at the University of Sv. Kliment Ohridski, entitled “3D View of the Sixth EU Enlargement”. She also reviewed the Euro-integration process in Croatia, whose main goal is full EU membership. In her lecture, Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed the present parties about the reforms Croatia is conducting in order to prepare itself for full EU membership, and for the wellbeing of all Croatian citizens.
