The ministers signed the Protocol on Cooperation in Issuing Croatian Visas at the Hungarian Embassy to Moldova. Pointing out that the bilateral relations between Croatia and Hungary were of special importance and served as an example of good-neighbourly relations, Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Protocol, which will further enhance the cooperation between the two countries ministries of foreign affairs.
br> He also thanked Hungary for the continuous support it was showing Croatia along its road to the full-fledged EU membership. Given Croatia’s readiness to carry out the necessary reforms, as well as the results it already achieved, the ministers agreed that the negotiations should be closed during Hungary’s EU presidency in the first half of 2011.

The ministers said that the two countries’ partnership was also confirmed by the excellent cooperation in economy and culture, as well as the high level of mutual protection of minority rights, agreeing on the economic and political importance of the their countries’ joint government sessions for the further development of the bilateral relations, as well as for the region as a whole.

As strategic areas of economic cooperation, the ministers pointed out joint infrastructural projects and continued cooperation in energy, which they described as having reached the level of strategic partnership.

Ministers Jandroković and Martonyi also expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation in implementing the projects of cross-border cooperation.

Finally, the ministers exchanged opinions about the current situation in South Eastern Europe, expressing support for the EU and NATO membership perspective of the other countries in the region, as a way of achieving full security and stability in the area.
