The ministers visited the Polira Company plant in Radatovići in the Karlovačka County, along the border with Slovenia. The visit was organized following the agreement on the solution to the issue of collecting customs duty and goods transport between the companies Politra from Radatovići in Croatia and Kolpa from Metlika in Slovenia, in an innocent passage through Brezovica Žumberačka – Brezovica pri Metliki.

The ministers expressed satisfaction with the agreement, saying it had brought a fresh positive spirit into the two countries’ neighbourly relations. Minister Jandroković pointed out that the agreement was vital for the survival of the Polira factory, which in turn ensures the livelihood and development of Žumberak, as 90% of it employees live in Radatovići and the surrounding villages of Žumberak.

The agreement shortens the transport route between the two companies in both ways, with the trucks instead of having to travel 93 km one way will now have to traverse only 12. This reduces the transportation costs and enables the companies to carry on with the trade.

Ministers Jandroković and Žbogar previously also visited the Kolpa Company in Metlika.

After visiting the Polira factory in Radatovići, ministers Jandroković and Žbogar had a working lunch in Karlovac. It discussed the bilateral issues between the two countries, with a special emphasis on the overview of the activities of the Mixed Commission for Outstanding Issues between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia, the conclusions from the 18th session of the Permanent Mixed Commission for the Implementation of the Border Transport and Cooperation Agreement, as well as other topics of mutual interest, especially in regard to the region of South Eastern Europe.
