Minister Gordan Jandroković received on inaugural visit Korean Ambassador Dae-Ho Byun

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 31 March 2008 on inaugural visit the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Croatia, Dae-Ho Byun

Minister Jandroković congratulated Ambassador Byun for his appointment as the first residential ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Zagreb.

The two collocutors reviewed the high level of relations between the two countries, characterised by a mutual interest to continue deepening the bilateral co-operation in all areas of joint interest.

Minister Jandroković pointed out that shipbuilding is one of the areas Croatia will continue to enhance even after the closing of the EU membership negotiations. This is an area that could be of interest to Korea as well. Ambassador Byun agreed with that, confirming the Korean side’s interest in investing in Croatia’s shipbuilding and further engagement in the building of the Port of Rijeka. In hat regard, he announced a visit by the Korean business delegation to Croatia in May this year.

Ambassador Byun announced the opening of the Korean Embassy’s new building in Zagreb, which is yet another proof of Korea’s interest to further strengthen the economic exchange.

Minister Jandroković and Ambassador Byun expressed a mutual wish for a further development of the two countries’ relations.
