Minister Gordan Jandroković received on inaugural visit Australian Ambassador Tracy Reid

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of bilateral relations, as well as with the mutual support and co-operation in the multilateral field, recalling Croatia’s membership in the UN Security Council. It was also pointed out that there is a need to intensify the economic co-operation. The two sides agreed that one of the main links between Croatia and Australia is the large and active Croatian community in Australia.

Minister Jandroković reiterated Croatia’s expectations for Australia to re-evaluate its visa application procedure for Croatian citizens, in light of the two countries’ very good relations and Croatia’s progress on its path towards full EU and NATO membership.

Minister Jandroković and Ambassador Reid also exchanged opinions about the situation in the region, in light of Kosovo’s declaration of independence.
